What do you love most about Twentynine Palms?
I fell in love with the desert. I love the view from my kitchen window, across the valley to the Marine Corps. It’s beautiful at sunset.

Born: Driggs, Idaho

Professional and community involvement: After moving to California in 1981, Carol joined the Twentynine Palms Fire Department in 1984. She started as a volunteer and left as a captain during her 12-year-tenure. She also served as a paramedic for the Morongo Basin Ambulance Association for nearly 30 years and was president of the Twentynine Palms Fire Association. Carol taught emergency medical courses at Copper Mountain College and College of the Desert for 24 years. Although she has retired from her emergency medical services career, she still teaches occasionally.

In her free time, Carol enjoys traveling and spending time four dogs—two German shepherds and two terriers.
